Subsea Devices
SA Radiation has build up world-class technical experties in the measurement of radiation under water. Major projects successfully conducted in Australian waters include:
- measurement of radiation dose rates from NORM-contaminated tubulars, including the ability to capture gamma energy spectra for identifying Ra226:Ra228 ratios, and
- detection and counting of pig trains transiting through gas pipelines.
Our sensing systems are housed in vessels capable of withstanding pressure at depths of up to 3 km. The dose rate and spectra system is set up to interface with RS232 communications of ROVs, while our pig detection system displays pig counts and pig transits to ROVs visually.
If you need to measure radiation in rivers or oceans, please contact SA Radiation for information on how we can assist you.
